A couple of days ago I read "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee.

It is a really good book. I recommend it.

Comments:
Didn't you read it in high school?

Wow, now, isn't that a rhetorical question?

Joking aside, no, I was reading other stuff in High School. I was schooled in Mexico, so my literary education included Hispanic gems such as Don Quixote (though admittedly I never completely read that in High School as we were supposed to: I only made it fully through that book sometime after college), Gabriel Garcia Marquez, and several others (poets, mostly). Our literary focus was universal, so we weren't limited to American literature. In High School I did read Dostoyevsky, Chaucer, Milton, Twain, Camus, Kafka, Joyce, Fitzgerald, etc, but admittedly, not many of those are American.

Also, none of these readings were assigned. Everyone knows that you never read the books that are assigned.
