Hi Elisa, I really appreciate your comments on our blog. Perhaps the main rant I wanted to make in my post was that people get freaked out when we talk about genetic differences b/w men and women, but they shouldn't be, because the differences exist and certainly impact our neurological anatomy.

The whole nature vs. nurture debate is a logical debate to have. For instance, you said that "...thinking logically is not a matter of innate ability. It is a learned skill." But has this indeed been proven scientifically? If we could prove that certain things are "learned" only, then we wouldn't be having this debate in the first place. And what were to happen if, after mapping the human genome, scientists discover that there are indeed aspects of our thinking that ONLY determined by nature and is further dependent upon gender... how would you react to this?

Oh and the Kreisleriana is an incredible work. What's your favorite recording of it? Try listening to Horowitz or Ashkenazy's (my fav. pianist)interpretation of it if you haven't already :-)
